Online Psychiatric Care Across California

The same unrushed, whole-person care, by secure video from wherever you are in California. No commute, no waiting room.

The short answer

Online psychiatric care is a psychiatric evaluation and follow-up care by secure video. At Peaceful Presence, I see patients anywhere in California by video for ADHD, anxiety, depression, burnout, and medication management, with in-person visits in Brea when you prefer them or when your care needs one.

  • Secure video anywhere in California
  • The same provider at every visit
  • In-person visits in Brea when you want them
  • Prescriptions follow current DEA and California rules

How a video visit works

A video visit is a real appointment. We talk through the same history, symptoms, and goals as we would in the office, and you leave with the same clear plan.

You need a private space, a phone or computer with a camera, and a stable connection. You must be in California at the time of each visit.

Who online care fits

Video works well for most evaluations and follow-ups.

Busy schedules

If you work long hours, care for kids or parents, or can't take a half day off for a visit, video fits care into your day.

People outside Orange County

If you live anywhere in California, you can see me by video. Good psychiatric care shouldn't depend on your zip code.

People who feel more at ease at home

For some people, talking from their own space makes it easier to open up, especially at the start.

When I recommend an in-person visit

Most care works well by video. Some things need the office, such as a vital-signs check, certain treatments, or TMS and Spravato, which are in person in Brea only.

Some medications are controlled substances. The federal rules for prescribing them by telehealth have changed several times, and I follow the current DEA and California rules. If an in-person visit is required for your prescription, I'll tell you up front.

Questions

Questions, answered.

Can I see a psychiatric provider online in California?

Yes. I'm a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and I see patients by secure video anywhere in California. Video visits cover evaluations, ADHD care, anxiety and depression treatment, and medication management. You must be in California at the time of each visit.

Can you prescribe medication by telehealth?

Yes, for most psychiatric medications. Controlled substances, such as many ADHD medications, follow federal DEA rules for telehealth that have changed several times. I follow the current rules, and if an in-person visit is ever required, I'll tell you before we start.

Is online psychiatric care as good as in person?

For many people and many concerns, video visits work well. The evaluation and the follow-ups cover the same ground as an office visit. Some situations call for an in-person visit, and you can always come to the Brea office when you prefer it.

What do I need for a video visit?

A private, quiet space, a phone or computer with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. You'll get a secure link before the visit. Please be somewhere in California and not driving.
